Clariant Deutschland GmbH decided to support our research with a donation this year.
Employees of the “Clariant Refinery Services” department had collected and thus raised 610 euros. Kerstin Müller, Sabine Goetzke and Kay Kutschbach (from left) from the department came to our research building for the donation handover on 1 February and then took a look at the laboratories.
We would like to thank all employees for their social commitment and wish them all the best for the future.
On 25 January 2018, the British Standards Institution (BSI) presented a cheque for 2,000 euros to support our Foundation’s in-house laboratory. This is the proceeds from two information events that BSI held in 2017 on the new European regulations in the areas of medical technology (MDR) and in-vitro diagnostics (IVDR).
“It is important to us to use our donation to support the foundation in its research into the development, overcoming and therapy of chemoresistance in tumours, and thus to contribute to the promotion of therapy concepts and treatment options for children with cancer,” says Dr Michael Weißig, responsible for BSI’s Healthcare division in Europe. Christoph Bracker, Marketing Manager for BSI’s Medical Technology Division, emphasises that “with its range of services in the certification of, among others, in vitro diagnostic companies, BSI contributes to supporting patients in their recovery in the long term. In this way, we are already assuming social responsibility through our service.”
Dirk Kammertöns, Managing Director of the Foundation, is happy about such donations: “The Foundation is 100% financed by private donations. Because of this, we are particularly pleased when companies such as the British Standards Institution, which operate in a similar medical field, support us in helping children with cancer.”

The company euromicron Deutschland GmbH, represented by its Marketing Manager Uli Schunk (left in the picture), presented our Managing Director Dirk Kammertöns with a monetary donation of 2,000 euros on 18 December. Euromicron is again doing without ducked Christmas cards this year and instead supports the work of our foundation with a monetary donation.
Also this year, our work was actively supported by Arnold GmbH, represented by the managing director Mr. Markus Bernsteiner (right), which we are very happy about.
On 9 November 2017, the Deutsche Bank branch in Sachsenhausen hosted its first Social Day. And it was a great success.
The employees had diligently collected donations with a variety of activities during business hours, and the foundation and association were also present with an information stand and were able to provide interested parties with competent information.
We would like to say thank you and are already looking forward to the next Social Day.

At this year’s “Brother Golden Ring Run”, a total of 108 runners together set a new record for the fourth year in a row. The 2,701 laps run resulted in a donation of 10,804 euros, which was generously rounded up to 17,500 euros by the management.
The idea for the Golden Ring project originally came from the corporate headquarters of the Japanese technology specialist from Nagoya. The idea behind it is to organise charity runs in all subsidiaries worldwide and thus to stretch a golden ring around the world. The proceeds go to the fight against cancer.
