This year, Sven Mattis, Managing Director of Wire Cut Prototypes GmbH, decided to support our foundation with a donation. He has already been committed to the association “Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder Frankfurt e.V.” for many years.
On 20 November, Board Member Rudolf Starck therefore visited the company to receive the generous donation cheque – 10,000 euros.
We say a heartfelt thank you to Mr Mattis and his staff for giving our research such a high level of support and wish everyone a peaceful Advent season.
Instead of Christmas presents, BULL RESEARCH CONSULTING from Dreieich is supporting the work of our foundation this year with a cheque for 1,000 euros.
BULL RESEARCH CONSULTING is a personnel consultancy that supports its clients across all sectors in their search for specialists and managers. In addition to its daily work in the field of recruitment, social commitment is very important to BULL RESEARCH CONSULTING.
Therefore, on 6 November, Mrs Laura Krüger (left) and Mrs Janine Simon (right, both managing directors of BULL RESEARCH CONSULTING) came to our research house to hand over the donation cheque to the foundation’s managing director Mr Dirk Kammertöns.
We would like to thank both ladies and wish them and the staff a blessed Advent season.
On the occasion of his 80th birthday, Mr Laber and his wife decided to support the work of our Foundation instead of giving presents.
The couple came to the Research House on 30 August with a cheque for 1,200 euros to present the generous donation to Managing Director Dirk Kammertöns (left).
We thank them for their support and wish them many more years with their loved ones.
Confirmation students are also interested in cancer research – like the confirmation students from Hofheim-Marxheim.
The group of young people from the Protestant Thomas Parish had decided to make a donation to our foundation: a proud 2,465.83 euros were collected.
In addition to an official handover of the donation, the girls and Pastor Constanze Schellenberg (back left) were given a guided tour of the laboratories in our research house, during which Dr. Vogel (centre back) expertly explained all the processes to them.
We thank the young people for their commitment and wish them all the best for the future.
Under the motto “1 cent per metre – 4 euros per lap”, Brother International GmbH held the Golden Ring for the fifth time this year. This time, the challenge “All against Kohlstrung” was also on the agenda, because a donation result of 20,000 euros was the goal – and the runners achieved it. Jörg-Stefan Schmitt (left, Head of Corporate Communications) and Yannick Müller (Corporate Communications) came to the Research House for the donation handover on 27 June. Managing Director Dirk Kammertöns (right) and Claudia Ries (Foundation Marketing) were very pleased about the visit.
The fifth edition of the charity run set a new record with 150 runners. The 3,485 laps run also represent a new record. In addition to employees and their families, business partners and friends of the printer manufacturer were once again invited to complete their laps for a good cause on the sports field on Huizener Straße in Bad Vilbel. FV Bad Vilbel, which Brother has supported for over 30 years, once again provided plenty of runners from its youth teams in addition to the premises.
“We try to motivate our runners a little more every year, so that ultimately we can keep increasing the amount donated to cancer research in Frankfurt. That’s why we also invited the foundation to be here for the first time and present itself, to give the good cause a tangible face. Our company motto at your side means not only standing by our customers, but also taking social and moral responsibility. That is why I am pleased that we have cleared the 20,000 euro hurdle” explains Brother Managing Director Matthias Kohlstrung.
In five years, 75,000 euros in donations have been collected.
We are already looking forward to the next edition of the Golden Ring Run and would like to thank you very much for your great commitment so far.
As part of the campaign for voluntary work, the state government awards particularly exemplary voluntary initiatives and associations every month as “Initiative of the Month”, publicises them throughout the state and provides a recognition amount of 500 euros each.
Today, the government spokesman of the Hessian state government, State Secretary Michael Bußer (centre), presented the Frankfurt Foundation for Children with Cancer with the “Initiative of the Month January 2018” award for its exemplary social commitment. Uwe Menger (left, member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors) and Dr Jürgen Vogt (right, Chairman of the Foundation) accepted the award. We are very proud to have been recognised and will use the 500 euros associated with the award for our further commitment.
On 23 May, Mirjana Massieu and her father were guests at the Research House. The occasion was a donation of 1,200 euros from the Nidda-Kampfbahn restaurant.
The money was collected at a charity event of the restaurant (owner Mr. Holger Hauke).
We would like to thank him very much for his commitment.
Christopher Sand from the Jackpot Tournament Series Frankfurt came to us on Friday to hand over the money that was in the jackpot.
Over the course of 2017, a large tournament series was run in which 1 euro per entry fee flowed into a jackpot. A total of 170 euros was collected in 17 tournaments. By vote, the organisers decided to donate the money to us and thus support important cancer research.
Many thanks for this.
